PROCEDURES FOR SEPTIC SYSTEM INSTALLATION
issuance of any permit for construction of a new or repair of an existing
residential sewage disposal system, an on-site soil evaluation needs to be
feasibility, location, selection, and design will be based on the site
evaluation and physical characteristics obtained from the soil profile.
on-site soil evaluation shall be done by a certified soil science consultant
(list is available from the Health Department).
Sanitarian will review the soil evaluation to determine the options (based
on State and local codes) for size, depth, and type of septic system(s)
permissible for the site.
Homeowner is responsible for decision on type of system to install from
system plans submitted to the Health Department for review must:
home, outbuildings, well, soil borings, and the location of an available
outlet for the perimeter drain.
property lines, any easements, and any other appropriate site information
(i.e. 100-year flood zones, ponds, streams, etc.).
the layout of the system as it will be constructed on the property, include:
lengths and distances in feet; depths in inches; grade elevations;
and a cross-sectional view of trenches.

fee paid at time of issuance as follows:
for new home construction.
for repair or expansion of an existing home site.
FINAL INSPECTION OF SYSTEM:
notice must be given to the Sanitarian prior to inspection.
